Public adjuster for denied or underpaid claims

A second look at your denied or underpaid insurance claim.

A denial letter or a low estimate is not always the final word. We read the policy, compare the carrier's estimate line by line with the actual damage and tell you honestly whether there is more to recover.

Why claims come back low

The usual gaps we find.

Most underpaid claims are not one big mistake. They are a long list of small ones, and each one can be documented.

  • Missed damage. Rooms, slopes or materials that were never inspected or never written into the estimate.
  • Pricing gaps. Labor and material prices that do not match current local costs.
  • Repair instead of replace. A patch approved where the damage calls for replacement.
  • Policy reading. An exclusion applied too broadly, or a coverage left out.
  • Depreciation. Too much depreciation taken, or recoverable depreciation never claimed.
  • Overhead and profit. Left out on jobs that need a general contractor to manage the trades.

Reopened and supplemental claims

Damage found after the claim was paid.

Some damage only shows up once walls are opened or repairs begin. A supplemental claim asks the carrier to pay for it. Policies and state rules set time limits for reopening a claim, so it pays to act quickly.

Appraisal

When you and the carrier agree the loss is covered but disagree on the amount, many policies include an appraisal process. We support you through it.

What to do now

Before you accept the decision.

  1. Ask the carrier for the denial or the estimate in writing if you do not have it.
  2. Note every deadline in the letter and your policy, including any deadline to dispute the decision.
  3. Keep photos and receipts, and do not throw out damaged materials yet.
  4. Send us the letter, the estimate and the policy for a free review.

When you need an attorney

Public adjusters do not provide legal advice. If your dispute turns on a legal question, we will tell you so you can talk with an attorney. Many disputes are about the scope and price of the repair, and that is where we work.
