Fees
Public adjuster fees, set in writing before we begin.
Two kinds of work, two fee structures. Claim support is priced by the scope of the claim. Estimating is priced by the size of the estimate. Your exact fee is set out in a written contract before we begin.
The two fee structures
Fees that match the scope of the work.
Section 1
Claim support
Representation, inspections, appraisal and adjuster services. Your fee depends on the scope of the claim.
Sliding scale: the larger the claim, the lower the percentage, never below 5%.
Umpire fees depend on how much argumentation your appraisal requires. Idaho bars a percentage fee if the insurer commits to pay policy limits within 72 hours. Arizona has its own fee rules.
Section 2
Estimating
Xactimate estimates and comparative estimates, priced by the size of the estimate. Contractors can also use a monthly plan.
Formula: ($ estimate total minus $5,000) x 1% + $250.
- $5,000 or less
- $250
- $10,000
- $300
- $25,000
- $450
- $50,000
- $700
- $100,000
- $1,200
- $250,000
- $2,700
Measurement reports
Aerial or photo measurement reports, ordered when an estimate needs them. Priced per report.
Price depends on the size and complexity of the property and the report type.
Monthly estimating plans for contractors start at $500 a month. See plan volumes and overage rates.
Your exact fee is always stated in a written contract before work begins. You are not required to hire a public adjuster.
Estimate-only fee
Work out an estimate fee.
The base fee of $250 covers estimates of $5,000 or less. Above that, add 1% of the estimate total over $5,000. For example, a $10,000 estimate is $300 and a $50,000 estimate is $700.
Xactimate estimating servicesEstimate-only fee: $300
Uses the published formula. Measurement reports, if needed, are priced separately. Your exact fee is stated in writing before work begins.
Monthly plans for contractors
Outsource your estimating for a flat monthly fee.
Each plan includes a monthly estimate volume. Volume above it is billed at the overage rate. Volume is measured on the line-item subtotal of each estimate, before taxes and before overhead and profit.
How contractor plans work| Monthly estimate volume | Monthly plan | Overage rate |
|---|---|---|
| Up to $50,000 | $500 | 1.0% |
| Up to $100,000 | $800 | 1.0% |
| Up to $200,000 | $1,400 | 0.9% |
| $300,000 and up | $1,950 | 0.8% |
| $500,000 and up | Custom pricing | Custom |
